$1,000,000 Settlement After Jury Trial Against Oakland Nursing Home: In 2014, Felicia Curran represented an elderly man who was discharged from an Oakland skilled nursing facility to an unlicensed rooming house. He was unable to care for himself, and eventually ran away from the rooming house, living on the streets until he was recognized to be a “missing person” and was reunited with his sister. The nursing home denied liability but the case settled after a three-week jury trial for $1 million.  The net settlement proceeds were paid to a special needs “pooled trust” to take care of the man for the rest of his life.
