Settlement in the amount of $750,000 on behalf of elderly woman against hospital for pressure ulcers and exacerbation of stroke: An elderly woman entered a hospital for treatment from a stroke. The hospital negligently caused her to develop a Stage 4 pressure ulcer on buttocks, by getting her out of bed and leaving her sitting for hours each day on an inappropriate chair. The hospital also negligently failed to help her shift position in the chair. The hospital staff also failed to call the doctor when her blood pressure dropped during dialysis treatment, leading to exacerbation of her stroke.
