One and One-Half Million Dollars Settlement for Oakland Nursing Home Resident in Pressure Ulcer Case

$1,500,000 Settlement for Oakland Nursing Home Resident in Pressure Ulcer Case: In 2014, Felicia Curran and co-counsel Joseph Earley filed suit under the California Elder Abuse and Dependent Adult Civil Protect Act on behalf of a middle-aged woman who had gone to live temporarily at an Oakland skilled nursing facility to recover from an illness. At the nursing home, due to the neglect of the facility staff and management, the woman acquired new illnesses and developed bed sores which almost caused her death. After extensive litigation, the nursing facility agreed to settle the case for $1.5 million the eve of trial.
