$150,000 Settlement For Fall Causing Injury in Oakland Nursing Home

$150,000 Settlement For Fall in Oakland Nursing Home: Felicia Curran represented an 83-year-old woman had a stroke, and was admitted to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation to enable her to return to her own home. She had right-sided weakness as a result of the stroke, and was unable to sit up by herself while on the toilet. The facility staff placed her on the toilet but left her sitting alone. As a result, she fell off the toilet, hitting her head on the toilet floor. Due to the fall, she had extensive bleeding from her head, and her face was black and blue for months. After Felicia sued the skilled nursing facility on the elderly lady’s behalf, they paid $150,000 to settle the case without trial.
